MDN is looking for enumerators
Saturday, January 15th, 2011Maldivian Democracy Network (MDN), is looking for 7 energetic Maldivians to work as enumerators for a survey to be conducted in Male’. The selected persons will be given a one day training by our staff and will be expected to participate in the survey for 15 days.
Major Responsibilities:
• Participate in the enumerator training, and assist our staff to pilot the survey tool
• Visit selected households and conduct the survey tool according to the instructions of MDN
• Record data as per the instructions of MDN
• Report daily progress on work and consult with supervisor on issues
Qualifications/ Desired Qualities:
• Above 18 years of age (Interested candidates who are in the ages between 16-18 can participate by providing us with a letter of consent from their parents)
• Able to read, write understand and speak English
• Able to read, write, understand and fluently speak Dhivehi
• People oriented, and enjoy working in a team
• Must be available exclusively for enumerator work within duration of the contract

• A reasonable allowance will be paid per work day
Duration of the Contract: 8 Days (tentative work period is from 08 January to 15 January 2012)

Position: Intern

Duration: 29th August - 29th September
Allowance: This is an unpaid internship
Educational Requirements: 3 A’ Level passes
Other Requirements:
- Fluent in written and spoken English & Dhivehi
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel
- Ability to organize, multi-task and plan to meet deadlines
- Be comfortable working independently as well as directly with others in a team

The Maldivian Democracy Network (MDN, formerly the Maldivian Detainee Network) is an independent non-partisan Human Rights NGO. MDN works to protect and promote human rights and democratic principles in the Maldives by monitoring the human rights situation in the country, lobbying relevant bodies and by working to improve awareness about human rights. Established in 2004 with an emphasis on the rights of those in judicial care, MDN has broadened its mandate and works on a wide range of Human Rights and governance related issues.
